 Closer Walk With Jesus

Lately, I’ve found myself reminiscing over the words I’ve been reading—words that seem to echo deep within my spirit. The more I reflect, the more I sense that God is gently inviting me to know Him more intimately. It’s as if He’s using these moments of quiet reflection to teach me, to draw me closer.

In times of difficulty, when the path ahead feels uncertain, I realize how important it is to truly know Him—not just know about Him, but to walk with Him, to trust Him, and to lean into His presence. The passage I’ve been meditating on speaks clearly to my heart: it’s a call to deepen my relationship with Him, to walk more closely, more faithfully.

Mark 8:27–30 –

Jesus had been walking with His disciples for some time, teaching them and showing them His works. At this point, He wanted to know whether they truly understood who He is.

So He asked them, “Who do people say I am?” The people were confused—some thought He was John the Baptist, others Elijah, or one of the prophets.

But Peter spoke up:  “You are the Christ.”

This passage reminds me that to truly understand who Jesus is, we need to walk closely with Him.

The crowd could not recognize Him because they only saw Him from a distance. But the disciples, who walked with Him daily, began to see His true identity.

My prayer is to have that kind of closeness with Jesus—walking daily with Him, listening to Him, and recognizing Him as my Savior and Lord.

“Just a closer walk with Thee,

Grant it, Jesus, is my plea.

Daily walking close to Thee,

Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.”
